What platform does VISCO run under?

VISCO is a web based solution. That means that there are two ways in which the application can be run; either as on the Cloud or as a client-server application running locally.

Do you integrate with any accounting systems?

Yes, we currently integrate with QuickBooks, Microsfot Great Plains, and Traverse out of the box. Additional accounting integrations are available at a cost.

Is there any way to attach documents to the system like a digital library?

Yes, you can attach any file type recognized by Windows to various entities in the system including: Containers, Shipments, Purchase Orders, Sales Orders, Products, etc.

Can we integrate the system with our existing website?

Yes, you can make product information (including images), order status, order history and various other information from the database available to your customers using your existing website. Since every website is different, this is handled on a case by case basis.

Can our sourcing agents, and shipping companies log in to use the system as well?

Yes, because the system is web based anyone can log in using the Internet. You can set permission levels for each user so the agents and shipping companies only see the information relevant to them.

Is source code available?

No, the source code is not available. However, the database is open (SQL Server) allowing you to query the data for custom reports as well as other functions you may need.

Do you ever upgrade the system, and do we have to pay extra for that?

New releases are distributed at least every quarter at no additional cost as long as you are current on your support contract.

How long does it take to implement the system?

That is dependant on the number of users, if data conversion is required, and how much customization is needed. Typical implementations are between three to six months.

Are you the original developers?

Yes we are. We also sell the system through our channel partners.

Is this system "modular"?

No, because the modules are so tightly integrated you can not buy some modules and not others. However, if you would like us to turn some of them off we can.

What is a "Venture"?

"Venture" is a term created by VISCO as a way to describe an inbound shipment of a product. For example, you order 50 drums of Glycerinand 50 bags of red pigment from a Chinese supplier. The entire order is then loaded on to a container. Each of those products within the shipment will be considered "ventures" as they will have their own unique financial, logistic, and document information.
